EDX Markets joins Canton Network as a validator and trading partner, listing Canton Coin and enabling stablecoin settlement for institutional digital asset trading.

EDX Markets has entered a strategic partnership with Canton Network, positioning itself as both a validator and exchange partner for the institutionally-focused blockchain platform.

The digital asset technology firm announced on December 16 that it will list Canton Coin ($CC) on its spot exchange while simultaneously supporting stablecoin settlement on Canton. EDX will further operate validator infrastructure for the network, contributing to its security and governance.

The Partnership

The partnership centers on providing institutional-grade trading and settlement capabilities. EDX Markets will enable its clients to trade and settle Canton Coin through its institutional-only venue, which combines exchange functionality with central clearinghouse services.

Stablecoin settlement on Canton Network represents a key component of the engagement, designed to increase transaction speed and capital efficiency for institutional participants.

Through Canton, the integration maintains the regulatory safeguards and operational oversight that characterize traditional financial infrastructure.

"Partnering with the Canton Network is a natural extension of our commitment to deliver high-performance, institution-ready infrastructure to the digital asset marketplace," said David Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer for EDX Markets.

"By supporting stablecoin settlement on Canton and participating directly in network validation, we're advancing our mission to provide secure, compliant and efficient solutions that meet the needs of institutional investors."

EDX Becomes a Canton Network Validator

EDX's role as a Canton Network validator adds an additional dimension to the partnership.

Validators maintain blockchain networks by verifying transactions and participating in consensus mechanisms. The firm's involvement is intended to strengthen Canton's security architecture as the network expands its presence in global financial markets.

Canton Network operates as a public, permissionless blockchain specifically engineered for institutional finance applications. The network emphasizes privacy, compliance and scalability; all of which are features designed to meet the operational requirements of traditional financial institutions exploring blockchain technology.

"We're delighted to welcome EDX Markets as both a validator and a strategic partner," said Melvis Langyintuo, Head of Canton Foundation.

"EDX shares our commitment to meeting institutional requirements for privacy, security, compliance and scalability."

A Shared Vision

Ultimately, both organizations target the same market segment: established financial institutions seeking to engage with digital assets through regulated, compliant infrastructure.

EDX Markets operates an institution-only trading venue backed by various prominent trading and venture capital firms (including Citadel Securities and Charles Schwab), while Canton Network counts major financial institutions among its myriad governance participants.

The partnership aligns with broader industry trends as traditional finance entities increasingly explore blockchain-based settlement systems and tokenized assets. Institutional adoption has only accelerated as regulatory frameworks have developed and infrastructure providers have emerged to meet compliance and operational standards.

EDX and Canton indicated they plan additional integrations and joint initiatives in coming months, though specific details were not disclosed in the announcement.

Market Context: Rising Adoption

The collaboration reflects growing convergence between digital asset trading platforms and blockchain networks purpose-built for institutional use cases. Settlement efficiency, regulatory compliance and integration with existing financial workflows remain primary concerns for institutions evaluating blockchain technology.

While Canton Network's architecture addresses these concerns through its focus on privacy-preserving transactions and compliance features, EDX Markets provides the trading venue and clearinghouse infrastructure already familiar to institutional traders.
